Foggy Pileups Strew Debris For 2 Miles

Seventy-four cars crashed in the fog in three huge pileups Friday on the Palisades Parkway, injuring at least 17 people, none seriously.

The first accident occurred around 11 a.m.. As police arrived, they heard the other crashes in the distance. Debris was strewn over two miles of highway. Police blamed heavy fog and speeding drivers.
