Powell Fan Ends Vigil

A Colin Powell supporter who hoped he would reconsider a run for the presidency tearfully ended a 36-day public vigil Monday after hearing from the retired general that he would not change his mind.

The man, who goes by the name CaShears, had spent the time in a beige recliner in Leimert Park since Nov. 12, leaving only for 2-1/2 nights during bad weather.
