Associated Press

NBA

Shaquille O’Neal scored 28 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked six shots Friday night to win another personal matchup with Patrick Ewing and lead the Orlando Magic to a 111-90 victory over the visiting New York Knicks.

The defending NBA scoring champion only had eight points after halftime but broke a 16-minute drought to help the Magic hold off the Knicks, who fell behind by 19 in the first quarter and never got closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Derek Harper led the Knicks with 21 points. Ewing made just 5 of 20 shots and finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
