Two Killed In Crash Of Small Plane

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two Buckley men died when their small plane crashed in rural Pierce County, about 25 miles southeast of Tacoma, the Federal Aviation Administration said Sunday.

The victims were identified as Robert Rusher, 52, a Delta Airlines pilot for 29 years, and a family friend, Dennis Bright, 34. Authorities believe Rusher was the pilot.

The two-person Piper Super Cub took off from South Prairie Airport in clear weather about 3 p.m. Saturday for a sightseeing trip of the Mount Rainier area, said Curt Benson, a Pierce County sheriff’s officer.
