State Firm Wins Navy Repair Contract

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Port Orchard, Wash., company has been awarded a $9.4 million contract for repairs to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Rep. Norm Dicks announced Wednesday.

Pacific Ship Repair and Fabrication Co. was selected in a competitive bidding process that included 11 other firms, Dicks, D-Wash., said in a statement.

Work on the Abraham Lincoln is scheduled for completion by October 1996.

“I am particularly pleased that Pacific Ship Repair has submitted the most cost-effective bid, keeping local jobs here at home,” Dicks said.
