Display Case Can Show Off Your Prized Collectibles

For do-it-yourselfers without a lot of space for displaying collectibles, photographs and other valuables, this small, elegant curio cabinet may be the answer.

Although it measures only 32 inches tall by 33 inches long by 14 inches deep, the cabinet provides plenty of display space.

It is pictured here with one shelf, but shelves can be added easily. The cabinet’s three glass panels allow for viewing from different angles, and a recessed light illuminates the interior. While the unit fits flush against a wall, it also makes a nice end table, and a matching set can be made from the same plan.

The cabinet shown here was built from oak, but knotty pine or another wood can be substituted.

The project requires some attention to detail, but it isn’t too difficult for novices. The key is making sure that the corners come together neatly, and traceable patterns simplify that step.
