Injury Keeps Hendrickson Out Of WSU’s Game Tonight

A broken hand will keep Washington State University senior Mark Hendrickson out of the starting lineup tonight, when the Cougars play a non-conference basketball game against UC Irvine.

X-rays taken Thursday showed two fractures along the fifth metacarpal, the pinky finger, on Hendrickson’s left (shooting) hand. One fracture is close to the wrist. The other is towards the knuckle.

Hendrickson, a 6-foot-9 forward from Mount Vernon, Wash., will have another set of X-rays taken when the team returns home on Saturday.

“At this point, it’s a very serious problem for our team which, quite frankly, could turn into a devastating problem,” said coach Kevin Eastman. “Mark is probably the most difficult guy for us to replace because our four man is required to do a lot of things both inside and outside.”
