Snow Causes 14-Car Collision On I-90 Outside Ellensburg

From Staff And Wire Reports

Fourteen vehicles collided on snowy Interstate 90, closing the eastbound lanes of the freeway for 2 hours Thursday, the Washington State Patrol said.

No serious injuries were reported in the pileup, 12 miles west of Ellensburg, troopers said.

The freeway was closed from about 6 to 8:30 p.m., when the last of the wreckage was cleared, a State Patrol dispatcher in Wenatchee said.

Troopers said the heavy snowfall in the area probably contributed to the multiple accidents.
