Sweeny Leads Prep To Victory Bullpups Boys Thump Post Falls In First Round Of Tournament

Paul Sweeny scored 22 points Thursday as Gonzaga Prep’s boys beat Post Falls 74-43 Thursday at the West Valley Tournament.

The Bullpups (5-1) established a 10-point lead in the first quarter and never faltered. Austin Lee topped the Trojans (3-4) with 10 points.

PF plays in the consolation today against Lakeside (Wash.), which lost to the host Eagles 80-69.

Jeremy Sandin scored 19 of his 25 in the second half as the host Panthers (3-6) came from 18 points behind to beat the Eagles (2-5).

FC scored the first 11 points of the second half, but the Panthers rallied behind Sandin. Jared Horton scored 30 for the Eagles, including all of the team’s fourth-quarter points.

Williams added eight rebounds. Amber Paulson had seven rebounds and Sarah Walter six steals for Bonners Ferry.
