Vikings Cut Men’s Soccer

Portland State has dropped its men’s soccer program, the school announced.

Bernie Fagan, who had coached both the men’s and women’s soccer teams, will remain as women’s coach.

“The strain of coaching back-to-back practices without any assistants, recruiting without any scholarships, scheduling backto-back games without a conference, and fund raising proved to be more than one coach can handle,” Fagan said. “It just makes more sense to go with one team and do it right.”
