Carl `Vic’ Gezelius Colville, Wash.

Service for Carl “Vic” Gezelius, 88, is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville followed by a graveside service and vault burial at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.

Mr. Gezelius died Wednesday. He was born in Northport, Wash., where he attended school. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in civil engineering.

He married Mary E. Erickson in 1938 and they lived in Grand Coulee for many years.

He worked in the engineering field specializing in construction of dams and Mr. Gezelius worked on the Grand Coulee Dam. His jobs took him to nearly every state in the West as well as into Canada. He was a registered engineer in both the United States and Canada.

Mr. Gezelius retired in 1968 and returned to Colville.

He was a member of the Colville Masonic Lodge No. 50, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Spokane and the El Katif Temple. He was also a member of the Northeastern Washington Shrine Club and the Colville Elks Lodge.

Mrs. Gezelius died in 1986.

Survivors include a son, George Gezelius of Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Shriner’s Crippled Children Hospital.

Dayton Lingle Rathdrum, Idaho

Memorial service for Dayton A. Lingle, 57, is planned for 2 p.m. today at the Mill Creek Inn in Rathdrum.

Mr. Lingle died Wednesday. Born in Chamberlain, S.D., he moved to Rathdrum in 1951 from Nampa, Idaho.

He drove a logging truck and crosscountry truck and had driven a truck for Conmat in Hayden Lake, Idaho, for the last two years.

Mr. Lingle was a member of the Teamsters Union in Spokane.

He married Judith Reinhardt in 1960.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Lingle of Rathdrum; two daughters, Diana Lingle and Shelly Enderud, both of Rathdrum; a brother, Gordon Lingle of Rathdrum; and two grandchildren.

Robert Ramer Spokane Valley

Memorial service for Robert W. Ramer, 69, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ramer died Wednesday of pneumonia. Born in Hood River, Ore., he moved to the Spokane Valley 25 years ago.

He was a QuarterMaster in the Navy and served during World War II and in Korea.

He bought Pacemakers Industry’s Inc. in 1968 and operated it until 1994.

Mr. Ramer was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2328 in the Spokane Valley. He was also a member and acting president of the East Boone Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Susan Ramer; a brother, J. Paul Ramer of Spokane; a sister, Bernice Hamilton of Butte, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Damon `Evert’ Crouch Kettle Falls, Wash.

Graveside service for Damon “Evert” Crouch, 68, is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the Meyers Falls Cemetery in Kettle Falls. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crouch died Thursday. Born in Jewell, Kan., he moved to Kettle Falls 27 years ago.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific until his discharge in 1946.

Mr. Crouch married Coy M. Robison in 1946 and they made their home in Spokane. He worked as a truck driver for a local mill.

They moved to Lincoln, Wash., in 1959 and he worked as a truck driver for the Lincoln Lumber Mill.

The Crouchs moved to Kettle Falls in 1968 and he worked for the Boise Cascade Lumber Mill for seven years. They later moved to Alaska where he drove a truck on the Alaska pipeline construction project.

Mr. Crouch retired in 1981 and moved to Kettle Falls.

He was a member of the Kettle Falls American Legion Post and the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linvill Burke of Fruitland, Wash., and Lilla Carl of Kettle Falls; a son, Travis Crouch of Kettle Falls; a brother, Donald Crouch of Lakewood, Wash.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dickson Fairholm Spokane

Service for Dickson S. Fairholm, 71, is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Fairholm died Tuesday. Born in Cheney, he moved to Spokane 40 years ago.

He worked for Kaiser-Aluminum and bowled at Diamond Bowl and with the Kaiser League.

His wife, Alice A. Fairholm, died in 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharen Robins of Lewiston; a sister, Isobelle Skinner of Ottowa, Canada; four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Donald Bare Spokane

Service for Donald D. Bare, 69, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel. Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bare, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He graduated from North Central High School and served in the Army during World War II. He was a prisoner of war, captured in the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Bare had been a heavy equipment operator for KaiserAluminum Mead for 40 years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Ex- Prisoners of War, Spokane Inland Empire Chapter.

Survivors include a brother, Claude Bare of Kennewick; and several nieces and nephews.

Charley `Holly’ Ferguson Spokane

Memorial service for Charles “Holly” Ferguson, 106, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Cremation preceded the service.

Mr. Ferguson, a World War II Navy veteran, died Monday. Born in Femoni, Iowa, he moved to Spokane when he was 12.

He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad and Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years.

Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1820 and the Retired Railroad Association. He was a 75-year member of United Transportation.

His wife, Ruby Ferguson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Swendig of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Jack Ferguson of San Diego; five grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Sylvia Paul Rathdrum, Idaho

Memorial service for Sylvia Paul, 83, is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Cremation preceded the service.

Mrs. Paul died Thursday. Born in Mullan, Idaho, she graduated from Kingston High School in 1929.

She worked for the McConnell Hotel and B&M Cafe.

Mrs. Paul lived most of her life in Kellogg and moved to Rathdrum six months ago.

She married Joseph Paul in 1930. He died in 1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Huff of St. Maries and Darlene Pollard of Rathdrum; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Cancer Society.

Celestine Hagel Spokane

Rosary will be recited for Celestine Hagel, 91, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Hagel died Wednesday. Born in Glen Ullin, N.D., she moved to Spokane 53 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes and was a former member of the Altar Society. She was also a life member of the Spokane Aerie No. 2 Auxiliary.

Her husband of 46 years, Peter Hagel, died in 1965.

Survivors include five daughters, Rose Harrington, Virginia Robinson, Monica Hensrud and Elaine Hrycenko, all of Spokane, and Tina Grinnell of Hampton, Ga.; two sons, Larry Hagel of Merlin, Ore., and Dick Hagel of St. Petersburg, Fla.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Lois Spidle Spokane

Service and burial for Lois Joy Spidle, 61, will be at 10 a.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Spidle, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

She was a homemaker and an accomplished painter.

Her husband, Jack Spidle, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Lonny Lane of Post Falls and Mike Lane of Spokane; three brothers, Morris Coyle, Robert Coyle and George Coyle, all of Spokane; two sisters, Louise Morgan of Minnesota and Mabel Frazier of Spokane; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

David Hunt Addy, Wash.

Memorial gathering for David Winsor Hunt, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Harshman’s home, W2311 16th. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation and arrangements.

Mr. Hunt died Wednesday. Born in Waconda, Ore., he moved to Addy 18 years ago.

He worked for Peerless Dentists in Spokane for many years and also worked as a pipefitter.

Mr. Hunt was a former member of the Oriental Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies and El Katif Shrine. He was also a member of the Bagdad Patrol and Shrine of Montana.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Hunt; a brother, Walter Hunt of Olympia, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy Peterson Spokane

Memorial service for Judy Peterson, 36, was Friday at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Peterson died Tuesday. Born in Detroit, Mich., she moved to Spokane 11 years ago.

She worked in restaurants and also arranged window displays.

Survivors include a daughter, Jenny Peterson of Spokane; a sister, Dee Dee Struthers; a brother, Louie Endsly; and her extended family.

Cecile Reiber Spokane

Graveside service for Cecile Reiber, 78, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reiber died Wednesday. Born in Riparia, Wash., she graduated from high school in Colfax, Wash.

She married Ervin H. Reiber in 1936 and they lived in Lacrosse, Wash.

Mrs. Reiber worked as a city clerk for Washtucna, Wash., for several years. She retired to Kellogg and then moved to Bayview, Idaho, in the early 1970s. She moved to Spokane 12 years ago.

Mrs. Reiber was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Kellogg.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years; a daughter, Janice Kaye Baker of Spokane; a brother, Harold McIntosh of Castle Rock, Wash.; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
