Four Spokane Skiers Make Jr. Olympics

Four Spokane-area teenagers were among 23 skiers who qualified in Spokane on Sunday for the U.S. Junior Olympics.

The Intergalactic Hyperski freestyle race and the Spokane Langlauf classic race were the last of eight events in which skiers from Oregon, Washington and North Idaho competed for points to make the Pacific Northwest team.

Erin Quinn-Hurst, Julie Slak, Jake Ostman and Brian Erickson, all of the Inland Empire Nordic Club’s junior racing team, qualified for the games, to be held March 4-12 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
