Haley May Stay

Compiled From Wire Services

The Dallas Cowboys will consider renegotiating the contract of team sack leader Charles Haley, who indicated he might postpone plans to retire from the NFL.

“Anything can change,” he said after competing in Sunday’s Pro Bowl for the Barry Switzer-coached NFC team at Honolulu. “I need to sit down with Jerry (Jones) and Barry and see what’s going on. If I feel like I want to play, I’ll play.”

Those comments represent the first indication Haley may continue to play for the Cowboys.”It sounds like he’s going to play,” Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said. “We have to sit down with Charles and see how long he really wants to play.”

Dave Adolph, defensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs the last three seasons, was hired to do the same job for the AFC West rival Chargers.
