Rebels Face Charges

Compiled From Wire Services

Two former UNLV football players and one current player are facing charges in connection with a series of purse snatchings near Caesars Palace.

William Yates, Daryl Wright and Frederick Sowerby were booked on charges of strong arm robbery and larceny after police received a call that a tourist had her purse stolen near the hotel.

Police arrested the men as they drove into a dormitory parking lot Sunday. Yates quit the team last Wednesday and Wright quit after last season, according to coach Jeff Horton.
