UW Guard Suspended

Compiled From Wire Services

University of Washington coach Bob Bender suspended point guard Michael McClain for two games, following his arrest on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, a gross misdemeanor.

McClain, 22, was arrested early Sunday, a few hours after returning to campus from Tucson, Ariz., following a loss to Arizona.

He was locked in King County jail, pending $1,000 bail and released at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Assault in the fourth degree implies no bodily harm and no deadly weapon.
