All-Ages Show At Nine Mile Features Young Talent

All-ages shows in the area seem to become increasingly rare, no doubt in part because of the lack of venues.

There’ll be one, however, Saturday at the Nine Mile Community Center Grange in Nine Mile Falls featuring local punks Drainpipe, Pigweed and Kate Poapdin and Seattle punk bands Bumpin’ Uglies and Sofaglue.

Drainpipe is a relative newcomer to the local scene. Rumor has it the band will make an appearance on an upcoming episode of the Patty Duke TV show.

Pigweed and Kate Poapdin have been together for about a year-and-a-half and have released impressive demos. Despite their young ages, the musicians in Pigweed and Kate Poapdin are incredibly talented.

The show begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $5.

To get to the Nine Mile Grange, take Francis Avenue west. Francis turns into Assembly, continue to the Nine Mile Bridge and turn left. The Nine Mile Community Center is on the Nine Mile side of the bridge.
