Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Car

From Staff Reports

A Spokane man was arrested Thursday, a day after police said he stole a car from a North Side dealership so he could pick up a friend in Seattle.

William McConnell, 24, N3114 Monroe, was booked into the Spokane County Jail for taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The car, a white 1991 Chevrolet Corsica, was taken from the Foothills Lincoln-Mercury-Mazda dealership sometime Wednesday.

Employees there received a tip Thursday that the car was at McConnell’s house and that he had used it to drive to Seattle.

Three salesmen from the dealership went to McConnell’s house and he showed them where the car was parked. The employees took the car and McConnell back to the dealership and called police.
