Outdoors & Travel: New Section Debuts

Our new Outdoors & Travel section arrives today, just in time for late winter dreaming and scheming.

This week’s destinations: cozy huts in the Methow Valley backcountry, the indoor attractions of Portland, spectacular Rio.

Each Sunday, the Outdoors and Travel section will showcase the work of The Spokesman-Review’s Rich Landers, one of the country’s best outdoor writers, and offer pages of dream-inducing regional and exotic travel news and advertising.

If you travel by bike, boat or boot, you’ll want to clip a new weekly feature on page 2. It’s called Routes: Classic trips in the Inland Northwest.

Gone from the Sunday paper is the old Entertainment & Travel section. But the entertainment news hasn’t vanished; it’s inside IN Life.

Beginning with page 3, and Jim Kershner’s Spotlight column, you’ll find what you want to know about music, theater, books, movies and other entertaining topics.

But no video news. Dan Webster’s Video File column moves to Weekend on Fridays.
