Boating

Area boaters can sharpen their seamanship skills at one of three boating skills courses offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilliary.

The 13-session courses cover legal requirements, boat handling, VHF marine radio, weather, navigation rules, marine engines, piloting using charts, ropecraft and more, said spokesman Don Steen of Spokane.
