Davenport, W-C Secure Title Spots

Saturday girls

Davenport and Wilbur-Creston secured places in the Bi-County League tournament championship with victories in Reardan on Saturday.

Davenport downed Almira/Coulee-Hartline 64-51 and W-C stopped Reardan 69-66. The two will meet Friday.

ACH takes on Rizville and Reardan meets Liberty on Tuesday in loser-out games.

Odessa and Lind were both eliminated.

Led by Jennifer Stinson’s 30 points, the Gorillas (21-1) easily defeated the Warriors (16-6).

Christine Peterson led the Warriors with 13 points.

Jessica Martin had a game-high 32 points as the Wildcats (19-2) held on to beat the Indians (14-7).

Brenda Rohner led the Indians with 22 points.

Chelle Coleman led the Broncos (13-9) with 17 points in their win over the Tigers (6-17).

After being held to only two points in the second quarter, the Broncos broke loose in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 22-8.

Panorama League

St. George’s and Columbia each won at the league tournament in Kettle Falls, advancing to Friday’s championship game.

St. George’s routed Inchelium 85-41 and Columbia beat Northwest Christian 57-45.

In loser-out games on Tuesday, Inchelium will face Springdale and NWC meets Selkirk.

Wellpinit and Curlew were eliminated.

Chrissy Peterson led the Dragons (21-1) in an easy win over the Hornets (15-4) with 27 points.

Peterson had 14 of her points in the Dragons’ 25-point second quarter.

After trailing the Redskins (8-14) by three points at the half, the Chargers (6-16) came back with a 17-point third quarter and held off the Redskins.

Cindy Cates led the Chargers with a game-high 26 points while Celeste Allen led the Redskins with 21.

Whitman County League

At the league tournament in Endicott, St. John-Endicott won the championship and earned a No. 1 seed to districts with a 66-47 win over Garfield-Palouse.

Gar-Pal will go to districts as the No. 2 seed. Tekoa-Oakesdale, which beat LaCrosse-Washtucna 57-52, will meet Colton tonight for the third and final berth to districts. L-W was eliminated.

Andee Schmick scored 27 points to lead the Eagles (19-2) over the Vikings (13-7).

St. John-Endicott raced to a 20-8 firstquarter lead and never trailed.

The Vikings’ Cindy Main shared scoring honors with Schmick, also tossing in 27 points.

With the game tied at 42 with 7:50 left in the fourth quarter, Molly French led the Nighthawks on a 13-1 run with seven of her 13 points.

Jessica Daniel led the Tigercats with a game-high 28 points, including six 3-pointers.
