Payson, Utah: Near Salt Lake City, which offers a hub airport and a population of more than 1 million. Minutes south of Provo and Brigham Young University, with established engineering program. Established high-technology center and industrial business park.

Oklahoma City: Numerous state incentives for Micron, probably including free land and tax abatement. City has had success luring other high-technology businesses, including Hitachi and AT&T.; Metropolitan population of more than 600,000. Near University of Oklahoma, which has an engineering school.

Omaha, Neb.: Fast-growing metropolitan area of about 500,000. State Legislature considering incentive package for Micron. Billionaire Warren Buffett, an Omaha resident, rumored to be supporting city’s effort. Recent success recruiting companies. Engineering program at University of Nebraska-Omaha. xxxx
