New Kindergarten Center Considered

From Staff And Wire Reports

Growing enrollment in Post Falls schools has prompted school officials to consider creating a kindergarten center in the old Frederick Post Elementary School.

The school, the oldest in the district, now houses the alternative high school and the district administration offices.

A series of public meetings is scheduled this month to consider moving the administration out to make room for kindergarten classes.

All classroom space in the three elementary schools is now in use. Other options being considered include creating a sixth-grade center at Frederick Post, purchasing portable classrooms and double-shifting.

The first meeting is today at 7 p.m. at Ponderosa Elementary School. Other meetings are at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Seltice Elementary School and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at Prairie View Elementary School.
