For an area with such a narrow function, it’s remarkable how many new products continue to be created for bathrooms. This year’s star: a whirlpool shower. Kohler Co. has created the Body Spa, an ordinary shower on one side with a powerful massager on the other.

The Body Spa soothes owners for a price of $9,000 plus installation for the 10-jet model; $3,500 for a six-jet version.

Jacuzzi Inc. responded with a whirlpool bath and shower combination, which it calls the J-Shower Tower. It costs $5,000.
