Boise St. Player Charged

Compiled From Wire Services

Boise State University basketball player Bernard Walker has been charged with two felony counts of forgery after a purchase at a Boise shoe store with a counterfeit credit card.

The senior forward from Rowland Heights, Calif., traveled with the team to its game with Northern Arizona, but Boise State announced later in the day that Walker was suspended indefinitely.

Authorities allege Walker used a counterfeit Discover card with a real account number and the assumed name of Tina Hill to purchase about $600 in merchandise at Foot Locker.

A judge issued a warrant for Walker’s arrest late last week, and he turned himself in Sunday. He was served the warrant, booked and released on $1,000 bond.

Walker could face a maximum of 28 years in prison.
