Salve Blues With Poetry, Bluegrass

By The Spokesman-Review

Slip into your snakeskin boots and faded jeans. It’s just about downhome time in Post Falls.

The Post Falls Arts Commission has roped cowboy poet and philosopher Glen Bair and bluegrass band Rare Mountain Aire into performing for WinterSong at Templin’s Resort tonight.

WinterSong is the year-old commission’s musical salve for the winter blues.

Rare Mountain Aire features Jerry Holmes on guitar, Marcus Smith on banjo, dobro (a slide guitar), harmonica and saw, Barb Davis on fiddle and mandolin, Tom Kuntz on string bass and Steve Williamson on bones. Williamson plays polished elk bones as a rhythm instrument.

Adding the yeehaw to WinterSong will be Glen Bair, a farmer from Ephrata, Wash. Bair philosophizes in verse on the order of popular cowboy poet Baxter Black.

xxxx WinterSong Location and time: Templin’s in Post Falls, tonight, 7:30 Tickets: $10, available at the Post Falls Arts Commission, City Hall, Medicine Man Pharmacy in Post Falls, Interstate Office Supply and Templin’s
