Morrison Knudsen Bids On Vietnam Jobs
Construction companies from 14 countries have started bidding on projects worth $317 million to resurface and widen Vietnam’s main highway, a state-run newspaper reported Friday.
The bidders include Boise-based Morrison Knudsen Corp. and Brown and Root International Inc. of the United States and Hyundai Corp. of South Korea, the Vietnam News said.
The government expects to select the winners in August, and work is scheduled to begin in November, the newspaper said. Completion of the projects is expected in 1997.
The road, Highway One, stretches for 1,430 miles from Vietnam’s northern border with China to the Gulf of Thailand in the south.
