A Bagful Of Game Recipes

Lyndia Vold of Spokane has solved the great crisis that confronts the families of waterfowl hunters this time of year.

Vold recently published “Duck Soup & Other Fowl Recipes,” a collection of more than 120 ways to ease the consumption of all that duck and goose meat that’s filling the freezer.

She’s taken the lard out of old family recipes and passes on tips for taking the gamey taste out of the toughest fowl. Her favorites from the book: Sweet ‘n’ Sour Goose and Italian Duck.

“Although I grew up eating deer and elk, I’d never eaten much duck or goose until I met my husband, who’s crazy about waterfowl hunting,” she said. “This book was a survival thing for me.”
