Class Changes Hunting

Washington’s Advanced Hunter Education classroom training requirement for the “master hunter” status has been replaced by a videotape program.

The high cost of staff travel made it necessary for the Department of Fish and Wildlife to take a new approach.

“I am confident that the quality and convenience of the videotape will be an effective substitute for the classroom training,” said Mik Mikitik, program director.

The tapes can be ordered by calling (206) 753-4476, but because copies are limited they must be viewed and returned within 48 hours.

Testing will now be offered with advance scheduling at the Spokane, Ephrata, Yakima, Wenatchee, Mill Creek, Vancouver and Montesano Fish and Wildlife offices.
