Journey Of Faith Tiny Minority

Most Russian-speaking refugees in Spokane are Baptists or Pentecostals, part of a tiny minority in the former Soviet Union.

In 1988, American experts estimated there were between 500,000 and 2 million Baptists in the Soviet Union and about 100,000 Pentecostals.

By comparison, there were between 50 million and 70 million Orthodox Christians, 35 million to 43 million Moslems and about 2 million Catholics.
