Four In Family Shot; Police Hold Husband

Compiled From Wire Services

Four members of a family with a history of domestic disputes were shot to death Sunday, and the husband of one of the victims surrendered, police said.

The dead were found in a two-story wood-frame house across the street from a convent in the New York City borough of Staten Island. The shootings were reported about 12:30 p.m.

The victims were a couple in their 60s; their daughter, who was in her 40s; and her son, in his late 20s, police said. The suspect is the husband of the slain woman. Her son was from a previous marriage.

The family had an ongoing domestic dispute, said Assistant police Chief Kevin Farrell. It was not immediately clear what the fight was about. The victims and the suspect were not identified.
