Coach Pleads Guilty

A former high school basketball coach from Kirkland pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure involving one of his players.

Jim McDonald was sentenced in Seattle District Court to a two-year deferred sentence and was ordered to undergo a sexual deviancy evaluation and treatment. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, said Dan Donohoe, spokesman for the King County prosecutor’s office.

McDonald, 32, had been in his fourth year as head boys basketball coach at Juanita High School before being fired last month.

He exposed himself and masturbated in front of a youth he had taken to a Seattle adult video store last February.
