Us West Cuts Deal For Interactive Service

From Staff And Wire Reports

US West said Tuesday it has agreements with 22 companies to provide services for its interactive TV trial in Omaha, Neb.

The trial is one of the first by a regional telephone company of two-way video technology. Its purpose is to compete with similar, advanced systems being developed by cable TV companies.

The trial, overseen by US West’s TeleChoice interactive service, will begin this spring. Services will eventually be offered to more than 45,000 households.
