Liberty District Superintendent Retiring In June

The Liberty School District is looking for a new superintendent.

Armin Vogt has announced he will retire June 30 after 34 years in the district, the last 10 as superintendent.

“After 10 years you kind of look for a new challenge,” Vogt said.

Vogt, 57, said he wanted to try something else while he’s still young enough.

While he is retiring from the school district, he’ll remain in education doing workshops, teaching at Gonzaga University and teaching summer classes at Eastern Washington University.

Applications for the position will be accepted until March 10, and a new superintendent is expected to be named by April 10.
