Pac-10

Portland-bred Damon Stoudamire capped a career sweep over Oregon with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists as No. 13 Arizona beat the Ducks 97-76 in Pacific-10 Conference men’s basketball Saturday at Tucson, Ariz.

Stoudamire, who leads the Pac10 in scoring (21.8 points) and assists (7.5), became the third Arizona player and fifth in league history to complete a tripledouble, reaching the mark in the first 26 minutes.

Arizona (11-4 Pac-10, 21-6) scored the game’s first 10 points, never trailed and used its size advantage inside and defensive intensity to disrupt Oregon’s offense all day. The Ducks (8-6, 16-7) made only 25 of 77 shots (32.5 percent).

Arizona shot 49 percent.

Stoudamire, a senior point guard, finished a 16-0 career sweep against Oregon and Oregon State in fitting fashion, hitting 5 of 10 3-pointers and all 11 free throws. He had one steal and committed five turnovers. But Joseph Blair hit a short jumper and Stoudamire a 3-pointer, and Arizona pushed ahead 45-35. Jeff Potter’s layup 40 seconds later, with 15:41 left, was the last time the Ducks trailed by less than double digits.

The Wildcats twice led by 25 points.
