Priest Lake Stats Out

About 9,500 anglers spent 62,000 hours fishing Priest Lake last year, according to survey results released by the Idaho Fish and Game Department. Slightly more than 50 percent of the anglers were nonresidents.

The anglers caught 22,000 fish, 18,600 of which were lake trout. About 4,500 of the lake trout were released.

The average catch rate for lake trout in 1994 was four hours and 45 minutes per fish. The average laker caught was 20 inches long and weighed about 2 pounds. The largest lake trout recorded was 42 inches long and weighed 30 pounds.
