Police Know Identity Of Man Found By I-90

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that investigators have identified the body of the man found dead by Interstate 90 Monday night.

They learned his identity through fingerprints.

Investigators did not release the man’s name, pending notification of next of kin. No one working on the case was available for comment.

A man driving home from Christmas celebrations with his family noticed the body about 7:30 p.m. on the bridge over Blue Creek Bay, east of Coeur d’Alene.

An autopsy revealed the man died of a single gunshot wound to the head. The man was believed to be 45 to 55 years old, and killed within two hours of the time he was found.
