Winds Blow King County Slash Burn Out Of Control

From Staff And Wire Reports

Strong winds blew a slash burn out of control on timber land on Mount Enumclaw, but it was contained Monday night, fire officials said.

Fire District 28 Chief Joe Kolisch said the fire east of Cumberland in south King County burned about 60 acres. But he said there was no threat to homes and no one was told to evacuate.

“It is contained, and we’re going to try to keep it that way,” Kolisch said.
