Black Magic Country Singer’s Newest Cd Easy On The Ears (And E)

Taryn Hecker Rogers

Clint Black’s newest album, “One Emotion,” promises easy listening and enjoyment, just like his previous albums. Clint has a great voice, and it draws you into the songs and keeps you there throughout the entire album.

One of the most popular songs, “Untanglin’ My Heart,” was written by Black with the help of country great Merle Haggard.

Black collaborated on all songs on the album, and that’s what makes this work so special. The words are coming from his heart; he can identify with the lyrics.

The songs are slow, but full of meaning. If you are the romantic, thoughtful type, “One Emotion” will be great for you. I find myself listening to the album over and over. The best part is that I am not tired of it. I always want to hear more.

As an added bonus, there are six pictures of the handsome country crooner on the album jacket.

New Diamond Rio album is whiny, but pretty good

“Love a Little Stronger,” the title song from Diamond Rio’s latest album, is a big hit with country fans. Now another song off the album is gaining popularity. “Night is Fallin’ in My Heart” is a song that makes you jump up and sing along.

The album has other winners. “Bubba Hyde” tells the tale of an average community-serving dogooder. On Friday nights he metamorphoses from Barney Jeckyll into the barhopping party animal Bubba Hyde.

Most of the other songs are whiny tunes about love, the lack of love and broken hearts. Although these sappy lovey-dovey tunes do not have the chart-topping potential of the others, they shouldn’t discourage you from buying this album. It is well worth the cost.

Diamond Rio included an instrumental song, “Appalachian Dream.” Usually I hate instrumental music, but this song really lit my candle.
