A naked Patti Davis will not greet the new Republican Congress after all.
The daughter of former President Reagan is featured in a full-page ad for People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals that was scheduled to run in this morning’s editions of The Washington Times - just in time for the swearing-in of the Republican-led 104th Congress.
But the ad, titled “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur,” was rejected this week by the newspaper.
“The Washington Times chose not to accept the original advertisement because of its explicit nature which we did not feel was appropriate for a family newspaper,” said the paper’s general manager, Geoffrey Edwards.
The ad showed an unclothed Davis, 41, sitting cross-legged with a black puppy in her lap.
