Man Found On I-90 Likely Died In Oregon

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police believe that a man left dead on Interstate 90 was most likely killed in Oregon.

A motorist found 45-year-old Ian B. Bowers’ body on the Beauty Bay bridge over Lake Coeur d’Alene Dec. 26.

On Wednesday, Kootenai County officials turned the case over to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department in Oregon, saying they believe the homicide occurred there.

According to the Portland Oregonian, Smith and Bowers were longtime friends and had been seen together on Christmas Day.

Police are also looking for the deceased man’s car, said Clackamas County Deputy Damon Coates. It is described as a white, two-door Plymouth Laser with Oregon plates SGX 365.

Bowers had worked for Portland General Electric for 17 years; Smith was a traveling pipe fitter. Both men had some connections with biker organizations, The Oregonian reported.
