Singer Vaughn To Play Fugazzi

Talented Spokane singer Robert Vaughn will entertain dinner guests at Fugazzi on Thursday.

Vaughn, who performs regularly at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, has a penchant for jazz and rhythm and blues and is an acclaimed musician in the Northwest.

Among the singer’s career highlights are three studio albums and opening slots for such well-known acts as Tower of Power and Dionne Warwick.

Vaughn’s repertoire during his three-hour performance will include many selections of his own original material.

He will play the restaurant every Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m., except Jan. 20, through March.

Fugazzi is located downtown at the corner of Sprague and Post. Dinner reservations are recommended. Call 624-1133.

Elsewhere in the night

Hobart’s Lounge will steam up the weekend with two scorching performances, tonight and Saturday, from salsa jazz band Fuego. Music lasts from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The cover is $3.

Local blues hounds J.R. Boogie will hold gig-goers hostage for two nights, tonight and Saturday, at the seminal blues haven, the Fort Spokane Brewery.

Music begins at 9:30 p.m. on both nights. The cover is $4.

Local punks Bellywipe and Guitarded play Mother’s Pub on Saturday.

This may be one of the last times to see Bellywipe. The two-year-old band is disbanding.

Havana Blast, heavy metal-meets-techno, plays the Big Dipper on Saturday.

The Planetary Refugees, a local veteran reggae band, will open the show with two sets. Music starts at 9 p.m. The cover is $4. Bring your ID.

Deejay Johnnie Vee, the Brooklyn transplant who has been working the club scene for a couple of years, will quake the foundation of the Big Dipper on Saturday with an arsenal of hip-hoppin’ jams.

Phoenix pop-punk band Carrier plays the Big Dipper on Monday. Jr. Rodeo Daredevils, a Bellywipe side project, opens.
