Source Says Erickson Will Take Seahawks’ Job

A source close to University of Miami football coach Dennis Erickson said that while nothing is official, it’s just a matter of time before Erickson jumps to the Seattle Seahawks.

“No deal has been struck yet and obviously he’s going to listen to whatever anybody has to say, but ultimately it will be done,” the source said.

“Dennis is a Northwest kind of guy,” the source said of the Everett native. “A couple of years ago before (Tom) Flores was coach they talked about it and he would have gone except he had all this stuff going with UM and his son (Bryce was a senior) in high school. Now he’s free and clear.”

Erickson is on a recruiting trip and was unavailable for comment.

The Seahawks interviewed the team’s former defensive coordinator, Rusty Tillman, on Thursday.
