Courier Ends Drought

Jim Courier, once ranked No. 1 in the world, won his first tournament title since August 1993, beating Frenchman Arnaud Boetsch 6-2, 7-5 in the final of the Australian Hardcourt tennis championship at Adelaide, Australia.

Sweden’s Stefan Edberg won the 41st singles title of his career, retaining the Qatar Open crown, beating his Davis Cup partner Magnus Larsson 7-6, (7-4), 6-1 at Doha, Qatar.
