George Petticrew led the Eagles (4-3, 6-4) to an upset of previously undefeated Medical Lake (5-1, 8-1), which is ranked second in the state, with his game-high 18 points. He scored 10 in the fourth quarter.

Petticrew also had four 3-pointers in the game.

Jared Hatch had nine rebounds, helping the Eagles to a 35-22 edge on the boards.

After trailing the Bulldogs (1-7, 2-9) by nine points at the end of the first quarter, the Grizzlies (3-3, 6-4) rallied behind the scoring of Raymond Walden. Walden finished with 17 points.

The Grizzlies’ Adam Smyly hit two free throws with 12 seconds left in the game and the Bulldogs’ Levi Berquist missed a pair of 3-point attempts to seal the Newport win.

The Cougars (5-0, 9-0) were led by Gary Hughes’ 16 points as they edged the Dragons (4-1, 5-4) to remain undefeated.

Curlew raced to a 17-1 firstquarter lead. But St. George’s came back.

The Dragons’ Brent Davis, who had a game-high 18 points, hit a 3-pointer with 1:24 left in the third quarter to bring his team within two points, 40-38.

After being intentionally fouled, the Cougars’ Curt Nelson hit two free throws with 18 seconds left to ice the game.
