Southern Utah At Idaho

Idaho’s men’s basketball team (4-6) brings a four-game losing streak, all on the road, back to the Kibbie Dome when non-conference Southern Utah (5-6) visits at 7:05.

At a glance

Southern Utah, which has aspirations of joining the Big Sky, is playing a quasi-Big Sky schedule. The T-Birds are in the middle of a five-game Sky swing - losing to Montana State (89-88), Weber State (94-85) and Idaho State (87-73), and defeating Northern Arizona (79-65). SUU is a free-wheeling group, averaging 84 points per game and knocking down 46 percent on 3-pointers. The T-Birds have been vulnerable on the boards, but excel in turnovers (134 committed to opponent’s 198) and steals (90-51). In Idaho’s last four defeats, three have been by 20 points or more. Shawn Dirden has replaced Ben Johnson in the starting lineup and is averaging 11 points over the last five games.
