Seven Gunned Down Following Wedding

Compiled From Wire Services

Five children and two adults were gunned down after a wedding ceremony in the latest eruption of violence in strife-torn KwaZulu-Natal province.

Police spokesman Colonel Bala Naidoo said political motive was “possible” in Sunday’s attack in rural KwaMbonambi, 100 miles north of Durban.

The same area was the scene of the massacre of 10 African National Congress supporters the day after Christmas. Naidoo said the two adults who were among the victims Sunday were believed to be supporters of the Inkatha Freedom Party.
