Spokane Volunteers To Help California Flood Victims

Five American Red Cross volunteers from Spokane are on their way to California to help flood victims with food, medical aid and shelter.

With rain expected to continue through the week in the San Francisco area and flood damage already estimated in the millions, Red Cross volunteers plan to be on the scene for as long as it takes to care for the disaster victims.

The five Spokane volunteers will join more than 40 other Red Cross teams - six from Washington - to provide relief to rescue crews and Bay-area residents.

All disaster assistance is free, made possible by public and private donations of time and money. Residents wishing to help the victims in this and other disasters may send contributions to the local Red Cross chapter, in care of the Disaster Relief Fund, W315 Nora, Spokane, WA 99205.
