Bills On Violence At Clinics Pondered

Associated Press

The Justice Department is considering whether new legislation is needed to curb anti-abortion violence, Attorney General Janet Reno said Thursday.

“What we have tried to do, particularly since the Brookline incident, is again to see whether there are any possible revisions,” Reno told her weekly news conference.

“At this point, I’ve not heard of any that those who are on the front line in terms of enforcing the (clinic-access) statute feel that would be helpful, but I want make sure that I’ve addressed all possibilities.”
