Nba Has $5,000 Fine For Miller

Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers has been fined $5,000 by the NBA for his actions during a game against the New York Knicks, the league announced Friday.

The Indiana guard was fined by NBA vice president Rod Thorn for attempting to start an altercation with New York’s Charles Smith in a corridor leading to the locker rooms after the Knicks’ 117-105 victory Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Spencer rips achilles

Utah Jazz center Felton Spencer tore his left achilles tendon in the first quarter of Friday night’s game against the Boston Celtics.

Spencer fell with about 3:20 left in the period when he went after a loose ball near the sideline. After Pervis Ellison hit a jumper for the Celtics, time was called and Spencer was helped off the court.

Malone needs surgery

San Antonio Spurs center Moses Malone, 39, will undergo surgery to repair the long peroneal tendon in his right leg, the team announced.
