Teen Shot In Back Following Dispute

From Staff And Wire Reports

A dispute between a young couple and four teenagers early Saturday morning ended with one teenager shooting another in the back, police said.

Daniel P. Anderson, 18, of Spokane, was taken to Holy Family Hospital where he underwent surgery to remove a bullet from his right torso.

He remained in satisfactory condition in the intensive care unit Saturday night.

Tracy Ogo, also 18, was charged with first degree assault and booked into Spokane County Jail, police said.

Three other suspects, all male juveniles, also were charged with assault and booked into detention.

Police reports describe the following incident:

Anderson and his girlfriend had been talking in Clark Park with the four teenagers when the girlfriend began arguing with the teens.

The couple left in Anderson’s truck and drove to the girlfriend’s house near the corner of Gordon and Walnut.

The four teens showed up, opened the girlfriend’s car door and struck her. They then pulled Anderson from the car, kicking and striking him.

One of the teens pulled a handgun and fired two shots, hitting Anderson once in the back.

Police spent several hours rounding up the suspects in the assault.
